Dreams are Meant to be Followed Regardless of Circumstance
Just because you are constantly hurting doesn’t mean you can’t follow your dreams. Being in pain 24/7 can be destructive to a person’s physical, mental, or emotional health. It helps to have goals or something that makes you excited. Life can be a roller coaster with things changing constantly.
I was a college graduate and had no idea what I wanted to do and I felt lost. I had accepted a job at a clothing store and before I started work, I went out of town for a few weeks and the accident happened that forever changed my life.
I was devastated as I didn’t know what to do. I tried working on my novel, “With Love, Ella” but it wasn’t always going well and I just felt like it wasn’t right. I was even more upset because it felt like the world was falling apart around me.
The saying, “everything happens for a reason” couldn’t be a truer statement. That same month I got a job with an event planner, which at the time was my dream job. During this time I was doing okay. I worked with an editor and writing coach to get my book where it needed to be. Around February I stopped working and continued to go downhill. My novel at the time was going way better and it took me a few months to re-write my whole novel. I felt like even though I wasn’t working I was at least being productive when I could.
If I hadn’t been in the accident, I may have never had my book published, or been able to write this blog. I have learned so much about myself as a person and how much strength I truly have. I have never loved myself as much as I do now. Just live each day to the fullest because we never know what the next minute may bring. If you dream of writing a book, then do it. If you dream of singing or opening your own business, then do it.
Never listen to the negative words people say because it’s what makes you happy.
If one dream doesn’t work out then follow a new one. One day your dream will stick and it will be the most fulfilling feeling you have experienced. Sometimes one dream finishes and another one starts, or you may have multiple dreams at one time.
I truly believe “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” and, “everything happens for a reason” fit most situations because when we are down it’s our strength that brings us up. Just keep living for you and your dreams.
